 | Job Description
| | | State-certified, master's level therapist who can provide outpatient services for children and families in group, individual and family settings. Requires knowledge of mental health issues, including substance abuse. Must be willing to work evenings and Saturdays, with a flexible attitude toward program development and expansion of services to the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Performs assessment and initial diagnostic evaluation of children and families. 2. Provides individual, group and family therapy. 3. Participates in regular team meetings trainings and clinical staffings. 4. Works closely with case managers, teachers and other professionals to plan and monitor clinical activities for clients. 5. Continually upgrades quality of practice skills through supervision, professional conferences and literature. 6. Maintains client files in accordance with agency and funding source requirements. 7. Provides complete documentation and reporting of all client services in accordance with agency and funding source requirements. 8. Conducts community consultation, prevention, and education services. 9. Participates in ongoing program planning and development. 10. Makes visits to school, home, and other off-site locations as required. 11. Performs other related activities in accordance with agency growth and changes.
| Skills/Requirements
| | | Education and/or Experience:
Master's degree in social work, psychology, or a related behavioral health field plus two years experience providing direct services to children and families.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:
State Certification preferred. Must possess Fingerprint card, a valid Arizona Driver?s License and automobile liability insurance.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
1. Demonstrates clinical competency in accordance with standards for the position. 2. Demonstrates competencies in accordance with CODAC standards. 3. Extensive knowledge of various therapeutic techniques used in the treatment of children and families. 4. Extensive knowledge and experience with individual, group and family therapy. 5. Extensive knowledge of community resources. 6. Superior communication skills, both oral and written. 7. Thorough knowledge of DSM-III-R/DSM-IV, especially in reference to children's disorders. 8. Ability to interact effectively in a team setting with other behavioral health professionals. 9. Familiarity with various ethnic and cultural groups.
